I studied this little fellow for awhile, wondering what I could enhance, if anything. I was looking for some aspect of the bird to draw attention to; something that would stand out while still making the bird look realistic. So I finally decided to accentuate the blue sheen of his mostly black back, because the red, white, and blue reminded me of the American flag. Interesting observation though, when I look closely at this drawing, it doesn’t look nearly as neat and refined as I strive to make my drawings look now, just one month later. Overall, I still like the way it turned out.
